MILITANTS HOLD ANTI-MARTIAL LAW PROTESTS IN MANILA, QUEZON CITY

Multi-sectoral groups hold protests in parts of Metro Manila to commemorate the 49th anniversary of Martial Law on Sept. 2021. Anti-riot police along EDSA and Ortigas Avenue in Quezon City monitored the protesters. Some offered a wreath at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani along Quezon Avenue. A scuffle occurred between police and militants on Mendiola Bridge in Manila. In a statement, the militants recalled that Martial Law was a "an era of terror attacks on people's democratic and sovereign rights". Meanwhile, protesters along McArthur Bridge in Sta. Cruz were blocked from getting near the Palace.
