MANILA – Members of a militant group held a rally outside the house of President Benigno Aquino III on Tuesday to protest what they believe is the leader's inaction over cases of human rights violations happening under his term. Between 200 and 300 protesters from militant group Karapatan – Southern Tagalog converged near the house of Aquino along Times Street before 5 a.m., overwhelming policemen stationed in the area. Members of Karapatan – Southern Tagalog, carrying several placards, banners and an effigy of Aquino depicted as "Wrecking King", successfully held a program in front of the President's house after clashing with police forces. The protesters are criticizing Aquino for the unabated cases of extrajudicial killings under his term. As of posting, the protesters were heading to Mendiola in Manila to join other groups observing the International Human Rights Day. – reports from Johnson Manabat, dzMM; and Jerome Lantin, ABS-CBN News Ang Effigy ni PNoy bilang "wrecking king" sakay ng isang tangke na minamaneho ni "Uncle Sam". pic.twitter.com/p6bNwaI84M— Johnson Manabat (@johnsonmanabat) December 9, 2013
