Coronavirus and TB Risk: Corona virus infection is not only taking people in its grip, but this global epidemic has also increased the risk of many diseases. While the problem of diabetes and obesity has seen a steady increase since the beginning of the epidemic, from time to time experts and even the World Health Organization have expressed the possibility of increasing various health problems in the Corona period. Now, researchers have claimed that the disease can re-emerge in TB patients due to corona virus infection. Based on the results of a recent study, it has been claimed that, SARS-CoV-2 SARS-CoV-2 which is the cause of Covid-19 infection, this virus is able to reactivate inactive TB. The study was conducted jointly by researchers from the University of Massachusetts and the Indian Institute of Technology, located in the city of Guwahati, India. According to the conclusions the researchers reached at the end of the study, SARS-CoV-2 can reactivate dormant TB. The coronavirus infection specific to this study reactivated dormant Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) in mice.

Coronavirus and TB Risk : कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण ना केवल लोगों को अपनी चपेट में ले रहा है बल्कि, इस वैश्किव महामारी ने कई बीमारियों का खतरा भी बढ़ा दिया है। महामारी की शुरूआत के बाद डायबिटीज और मोटापे की समस्या में लगातार इजाफा देखा गया है वहीं, समय-समय पर एक्पर्ट्स और यहां तक कि विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन ने भी कोरोना काल में विभिन्न स्वास्थ्य समस्याओं के बढ़ने की आशंका जतायी है। अब, शोधकर्ताओं ने दावा किया है कि कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण की वजह से टीबी के मरीजों में यह बीमारी दोबारा उभर सकती है। स्डटी करनेवाली टीम के सदस्यों के अनुसार यह स्टडी भारत के लिए महत्वपर्ण है क्योंकि, भारत जैसे विकासशील देशों में टीबी की बीमारी एक बड़े बोझ के तौर पर देखी जाती रही है। वहीं, कोरोना काल में भी भारत में टीबी के मरीजों की संख्या में बढ़ोतरी देखी गयी है। इनमें से ज़्यादातर लोग ऐसे हैं जिनमें टीबी पहले निष्क्रिय था लेकिन कोविड संक्रमण के बाद यह सक्रिय हो गया।
