States hit panic button as drug to treat black fungus runs out

Demand for antifungal drug 'Amphotericin B' has spiked in recent weeks owing to an increase in cases of mucormycosis, also known as black fungus, a rare infection seen in patients who are on medication for Covid-19 or recovered from it. States have begun to panic as the number of black fungus cases are rising slowly but steadily across the country.
