The Karnataka and Tamil Nadu governments have decided to impose a 14-day complete lockdown in the respective states to check the spread of Covid-19 cases. The lockdown comes into force from 6 am on May 10 till 6 am on May 24. Only essential services will be allowed to operate. Seventeen people who were suspended following a raid at a Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Covid war room by Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya have been reinstated by the civic body. Sources told India Today that 17 Muslim employees at the BBMP Covid war room were asked to rejoin work after the police couldn't find evidence against them in the alleged bribe-for-bed scam.
