The Telangana government has imposed a night curfew in the state starting Tuesday a day after the high court expressed strong displeasure against the state's response to the Covid-19 crisis.

The night curfew in Telangana will continue till April 30. This comes at a time when the state is witnessing a sharp increase in Covid-19 cases in the second wave. Telangana on Tuesday reported 5,926 fresh Covid-19 cases and 18 deaths in the past 24 hours.

Within hours, Telangana government has issued the night curfew orders. The night curfew in Telangana will come into force at 9 pm and end at 5 am. Starting on Tuesday, the night curfew will come off on April 30.
