The coronavirus situation in India remains grim as virus surge triggers weekend/week-long lockdowns and night curfews in various states of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday urged state governments to use lockdowns as the last resort to contain the spread of the second wave of Covid-19 infections.
