Covid-19 cases in India continue to surge. Maharashtra, the biggest contributor, saw a slight improvement in its figures on Monday, perhaps attributable to the weekend lockdown that has been put in place in the state.

The state is yet to take a call on whether to implement a complete lockdown. Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope has assured that such a decision will only be taken after proper planning and adequate arrangements are made for the poor.
