England skipper Joe Root has joined an exclusive list following his century on Day 1 of the first Test against India. He became the third Englishman to hit a century in his 100th Test. Colin Cowdrey and Alec Stewart are the only other players from England to have registered this milestone. The century by Root is his third straight hundred, having scored tons previously in the recently concluded two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.


इंग्लिश कप्तान जो रूट ने चार मैचों की सीरीज के पहले टेस्ट से ही टीम विराट की जड़ें खोदनी शुरू कर दी हैं. शुक्रवार से शुरू हुए पहले टेस्ट के दिन जो रूट ने बेहतरीन शतक जड़ा. और इस पारी के साथ ही इंग्लिश कप्तान ने पिछले लगातार तीन टेस्ट में शतक जड़ने के कारनामे को अंजाम दे डाला. जे. रूट चेन्नई टेस्ट के पहले दिन 128 रन बनाकर नाबाद हैं. इस पारी के लिए उन्होंने 197 गेंद खेलीं और 14 चौके और एक छक्का लगाया. रूट श्रीलंका से लगातार दो शतक जड़कर भारत पहुंचे थे, जिसमें एक दोहरा शतक भी शामिल था।
