The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved Covishield of Serum Institute and Covaxin of Bharat Biotech for emergency use in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described it as the turning point of a spirited battle, saying that every Indian will be proud that the two vaccines which have been allowed to use emergency are made in India.

ड्रग कंट्रोलर जनरल ऑफ इंडिया यानी DCGI ने सीरम इंस्टिट्यूट की कोविशील्ड और भारत बायोटेक की कोवैक्सीन को भारत में इमर्जेंसी इस्तेमाल के लिए मंजूरी दे दी है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने इसे एक उत्साही लड़ाई का निर्णायक मोड़ बताते हुए कहा है कि हर भारतीय को गर्व होगा कि जिन दो वैक्सीन के इमरजेंसी इस्तेमाल की इजाजत दी गई है, वो भारत में बनी हैं.
