South Korean spy chief Park Jie-won has met with Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga...amid strained relations between the two neighboring countries over wartime history and trade.
Following a 30-minute meeting on Tuesday, South Korea's National Intelligence Service Director told reporters that he has delivered President Moon Jae-in's message of wishing to normalize relations.
On the issue of Japan's wartime forced labor, Park said the two parties agreed that the matter should be settled between the two leaders.
Park is also known to have relayed South Korea's stance on its efforts to host a trilateral summit with China and Japan next month.
