The late chairman of Samsung Group, Lee Kun-hee, who died last weekend, was laid to rest today at his family burial site after a four-day funeral.
On the way there, the motorcade made several stops to commemorate important places in his life.
Our Kim Do-yeon has the details.
At around eight thirty Wednesday morning, the motorcade and hearse carrying Samsung's late chairman, Lee Kun-hee, left Samsung Medical Center, bound for Suwon, the reported site of his burial.
The procession passed by his home in Seoul's Yongsan-gu District and by Samsung's campus in Hwaseong, home of the company's semiconductor business... and perhaps one of Lee Kun-hee's biggest and most celebrated achievements.
Joining the procession were his wife, Hong Ra-hee, and his children, including Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong.
His eldest daughter, Lee Boo-jin, the CEO of Hotel Shilla, was seen crying as she boarded the bus for the burial grounds.
The late chairman's resting place in Suwon is where his ancestors are buried.
The burial was reportedly a modest ceremony and was not open to the public.
The eulogy was given by Lee Kun-hee's high school friend, who said the late chairman had exceeded even his own father, the founder of Samsung, as a businessman.
