Loan balance of S. Korea's 20s surges in H1 2020 on bank overdrafts, card loans

South Koreans in their 20s fell further into debt in the first half of 2020 ...amid a continued economic slump and job crisis.
According to data from the Financial Supervisory Service, ...the loan balance for people in their twenties stood at one-point-nine-one billion U.S. dollars as of the end of June.
That is up by more than 63 million dollars from the end of last year.
Almost all of that debt was in the form of overdrafts.
With increased debt, nearly 12-thousand-five-hundred people in their 20s applied to work out their debt with credit agencies last year.
