Helicopter drops water to extinguish the fire at Moraga Hills

A blaze that threatened to expand rapidly has been contained after destroying just 30 acres when police employed air resources including a helicopter equipped with water barrel. Moraga-Orinda Fire Department said they managed to contain the fire that broke out over the weekend by carefully targeting the spray of water across the line of fire as it advanced across the landscape. The said their route received the call that a fire had broken out near Irvine Drive off Harrington Road at 6 PM yesterday. When they arrived, the third it was spreading across light vegetation and realised they needed to act quickly to stop it spreading further. CalFire and ConFire firefighters also joined in the operation together with their air fire resources. They said the fire was contained a few hours later with no damage to any structures or property other than the vegetation.
