This weekend begins the much-awaited the Indian Premier League, taking place in the shadow of the coronavirus pandemic. After being suspended twice, the tournament is finally set to take off in the deserts of United Arab Emirates.

The IPL, which was supposed to start from March 29, got postponed like all other sporting events for an indefinite period as the world geared up to battle the deadly virus, which is still wreaking havoc all across the globe.
