Prashant Bhushan moves SC to defer sentence hearing on contempt case

Lawyer Prashant Bhushan has moved the Supreme Court to defer hearing on his sentence in a contemp of court case till the time his review petition against the August 14 conviction order is taken up.

After being held guilty of contempt for his two derogatory tweets against the judiciary, activist-lawyer Prashant Bhushan had filed a written submission in the Supreme Court. He said in his submission that allegation of corruption are not contempt per se because truth is defense to the contempt proceedings.
