South Korean floods and landslides kill dozens, displace thousands

At least 30 people have died and 12 others have gone missing in South Korea since the monsoon season started in late June 2020, the largest number of casualties caused by torrential rain since 2011. Heavy torrential rains that triggered flooding and landslides, had forced nearly 6,000 people from 11 provinces to leave their homes as of August 9, 2020.
