The foreign ministers of the Five Eyes intelligence alliance have slammed the postponement of Hong Kong's upcoming elections,... urging its government to hold them as soon as possible.

The top diplomats of the U.S., the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand have expressed grave concerns over Hong Kong's delaying of Legislative Council elections.
In a joint statement Sunday,... the so-called Five Eyes allies stated that they are deeply worried about the Hong Kong government's unjust disqualification of candidates and disproportionate postponement of the Legislative Council elections.
They added the new National Security Law imposed by China is eroding the Hong Kong people's fundamental rights and freedom.
They called on Beijing to respect the principle of "One Country, Two Systems" by granting Hong Kong's people autonomy and freedom,... while urging the Hong Kong government to hold the elections as soon as possible.
This comes as Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam announced last month that the elections for the city's legislature scheduled for early September would be postponed due to a rebound in the number of COVID-19 cases.
Lam did not propose a new date, but said the elections would be postponed for a year.
What's more,... 12 pro-democracy candidates including prominent Hong Kong activist and former leader of the 2014 Umbrella Movement, Joshua Wong, have been disqualified from running.
Each of the member-states of the Five Eyes alliance have withdrawn from extradition treaties with Hong Kong following Beijing's imposition of the controversial National Security Act.
