Bahujan Samaj Party issues whip against its Rajasthan MLAs

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), headed by Mayawati, issued a whip to its six MLAs in Rajasthan, who merged with the Congress party in the state in 2019. The BSP and has asked them to vote against Congress in any “no-confidence motion” or any proceedings to be held during Rajasthan Assembly Session, according to latest reports.

In a letter, BSP National General Secretary Satish Chandra Misra said that all six of the party's Rajasthan MLAs who were elected on the BSP's election symbol are bound by a party whip to vote against the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government in the state. The latest development could jeopardise Gehlot government in Rasjathan amid high political tensions between sacked Deputy Rajasthan Chief Minister Sachin Pilot and rebel Congress MLAs.
