U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts has sided with the liberal justices on the Supreme Court to strike down a controversial abortion law in Louisiana dubbed the most watched abortion case in decades.
In a 5-to-4 decision Monday, the Supreme Court ruled that Louisiana's efforts to restrict access to abortion were unconstitutional.
Previously, the law barred doctors from performing abortions unless they had admitting privileges at a nearby hospital.
The latest ruling is a further blow to President Trump, after the Supreme Court ruled against his administration's attempt to remove immigration protections for undocumented immigrants brought to the country as minors.
