According to the latest data by Johns Hopkins University, the global number of confirmed cases as of Monday is more than 10-million-100-thousand.
And the global death toll has topped half-a-million.
By country, the U.S. has been hit hardest..., with the most reported cases and the highest death toll.
The country now has more than 2-point-5-million confirmed cases and one-hundred-25-thousand deaths.
Brazil has become the second worst-affected country after a rapid surge in both confirmed cases and deaths.
It is seeing more than 30,000 new cases a day, and its total number of cases has surpassed 1-point-3 million.
The rate of new cases being reported around the world is accelerating, with the World Health Organization reporting a record almost 190-thousand cases on Sunday alone.
That figure comes only two days after the previous record, which was around 180-thousand cases.
