LG Chem is taking all available measures possible to protect everyone affected by the latest gas leak at its Polymers plant in India by cooperating with Indian authorities and the Korean Embassy in New Delhi.
That's according to South Korea's largest chemical company as it denied media reports that there was a second leak at the plant.
Both Indian authorities and LG Chem confirmed that the latest evacuation was precautionary out of concern that rising temperatures at the plant's gas tank could possibly cause another leak.
At least 11 people have been confirmed dead and hundreds more have been hospitalized after a chemical gas leak at a plant owned by LG Polymers, a subsidiary of the South Korean megacorporation LG in Andhra Pradesh state early Thursday.
