There is a long process as well as hard work behind making silk threads from cocoons and saris from those threads. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said in the 62nd edition of 'Mann Ki Baat' that women from Purnia used to prepare cocoons from silkworms on a mulberry tree. He used to get a nominal price for this. People who made silk yarn from it were paid a good price.
