Dosa originated from south India. Dosa is a cooked flat thin layered rice and daal batter, made from fermenting batter.Its main ingredients are rice and daal grounded together in fine batter, flavoured with salt. Dosas are now popular all over India.Traditionally ,dosas are served hot along with sambhar , potatoe bhaji stuffing and chutney.Today in this dosa batter recipe we will make it more delicious by adding zeera and methi seeds. Ingredients for batter..
3 cups/ katoris of rice ..use same cup/katori for measuring both rice and daal)
1 cup/katori of urad daal(white)
1 tsp of zeera
1 tsp of methi seeds
1 tsp salt or as per taste
2 tbsp of gram flour or besan
Ghee or oil as required to make dosa
I am using iron tava,non stick also can be used
Tips:
Keep the batter outside at warm place at least for 4 to 5 hr for fermenting after grinding.
Keep batter in thick consistency, do not make it very runny.
On Iron tava, dosa comes out more crispy and golden.
