Commuters witness the terrifying moment a mini truck carrying gallons of gas cylinders caught fire after it rammed into another vehicle in the west Indian state of Gujarat.

The footage, recorded on Thursday (January 9) on Olpad road, Surat, shows the truck carrying LPG cylinders catching fire, followed by a series of explosions.

According to the reports, the mini-truck collided with a lorry which led to leakage in the gas cylinders.

Firefighters reached the scene and managed to douse the fire, reports said.

A school bus carrying around 26 children, along with an auto-rickshaw that was approaching from the opposite direction also caught fire. Fortunately, the students aboard the school bus were rescued and taken to safety.

Traffic on the highway came to a standstill and no casualties have been reported.

According to the reports, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) officials are investigating the matter.

On the suspicion of illegal transportation of the gas cylinders, officials are also looking for the truck driver and his partner who are currently absconding.
