Civet rescued from 10ft deep well in western India

Animal rescuers saved a civet cat from drowning after it accidentally fell inside a well in the east Indian state of Odisha.

The rescue operation was carried out in the Telengapentha area of Cuttack district on December 9.

Visuals show one of the rescuers enter the well.

After spotting the animal, the rescuer asks the others for a cage and tries to get hold of the animal.

Later, he puts the animal inside the small cage and locks the gate.

In another shot, the rescuers are shown releasing the animal back into the wild.

According to reports, the civet was found inside the well on December 8.

Soon after spotting it, locals tried to pull it out.

However, they failed and informed the animal rescue team who carried out the operation the following day.

The rescue mission lasted an hour, reports said.
