Donald Trump set to have final say on Hong Kong democracy act as US Senate passes it
  • 4 years ago
The US Senate passed the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act with no objections on November 20, 2019.  A slightly different version of the bill was previously approved by the US House of Representatives in October.  Lawmakers from the two chambers will now align differences in their bills before sending a final version of the legislation to US President Donald Trump to his signature which would put it the law into force.
