The United States and Britain have criticised the arrest of 15 prominent activists in Hong Kong, which both called for Hong Kong's rule of law to be maintained.

Hong Kong police arrested 15 activists on Saturday on charges of illegal assembly, in a biggest crackdown on the city's pro democracy movement since the outbreak of mass protests last year.
