China manufacturing slumps for 6th straight month
  • 4 years ago
China's manufacturing sector continued to shrink for a sixth consecutive month in October amid its trade war with the U.S.
According to China's National Bureau of Statistics, the official Purchasing Managers' Index for manufacturing came to 49-point-3 in October, down half a point from September.
The October figure was the lowest since February.
If the PMI falls below 50, it means manufacturing has shrunk on a monthly basis.
