Two DAP assemblypersons detained over alleged links to LTTE

Police have detained two DAP assemblypersons over their alleged connections with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

Bukit Aman's counter-terrorism division chief Ayub Khan Mydin Pitchay confirmed the arrests.

The two are Malacca exco member G Saminathan and Seremban Jaya assemblyperson P Gunasekaran. It is believed the pair were detained this morning.

Sources have confirmed with Malaysiakini that both were detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma) which allows for 28 days of detention.
