Japan hoping to hold summit with N. Korea within the year: NSS
  • 5 years ago
Japan is apparently hoping to hold a summit with North Korea before the year is out.
The newly appointed head of Japan's National Security Secretariat Shigeru Kitamura said so in an interview with Asahi Weekly set to be released on October 11th.
They're already in talks, he said, to set up a summit.
Given the organization's confidential nature and closeness to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe,... experts see the comments as a sign Abe does want to meet with Kim Jong-un.
It's something he's said previously he would do with no preconditions.
