IMF names Kristalina Georgieva as new chief

Bulgarian economist Kristalina Georgieva was officially named on Wednesday as the next head of the International Monetary Fund.
The former World Bank CEO is the second woman, and the first person from an emerging-market economy, to lead the 189-member institution.
The IMF waived its age limit of 65 just one day before the deadline for candidate recommendations,... to allow the 66-year-old's nomination.
Georgieva is to take up her position starting on October 1st, replacing Christine Lagarde, who is expected to take over the European Central Bank later this year.
