World's largest airport officially opens in Beijing after four years of construction

The newly built Daxing International Airport, which became the new world's largest airport was officially opened on Wednesday (September 25), after four years of construction.

The cool drone video, shot in Beijing on February 2, shows both the outside and the inside of the starfish-shaped Daxing International Airport when it was still under construction.

According to reports, Daxing International Airport was designed by the Pritzker-winning architect Zaha Hadid and the French engineering company ADP Ingénierie.

An opening ceremony to the project was held on December 26, 2014 and the construction work began in September 2015 and finished on June 30, 2019.
