MANILA - Japanese and Australian officials visited Tacloban a month after super typhoon Yolanda ravaged the city. Japanese Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera made his trip to oversee his country's efforts to assist typhoon survivors. Japan has deployed a new batch of self-defense troops to Tacloban. It earlier sent troops to Cebu and Leyte for medical and relief missions. Meanwhile, Australian Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop met with children who survived the super typhoon. Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman said Australia has pledged Australian $10 million or P400 million worth of assistance on top of its earlier contribution of Australian $30 million or P1.2 billion.
