More help for 'Yolanda' survivors is coming from Japan. Philippine Ambassador to Japan Manuel Lopez said the Japanese government and Japanese corporation AEON have pledged additional financial aid for the typhoon victims. "We can see that Japan has always been very responsive to all our needs especially in this recent Super Typhoon Yolanda. We can see the outpouring of support not only of the Japanese government but Japanese corporations and the Japanese people. They've been very, very supportive of the needs of the people especially in the devastated areas," he said. Lopez also said even Filipinos in Japan are pitching in and President Aquino will meet them when he arrives there, Thursday (December 12) for the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit. Aquino will also personally thank Emperor Akihito and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for the help Japan extended to the 'Yolanda' relief operations. Aquino and Abe are also expected to sign several bilateral agreements. ANC The Bureau, December 11, 2013
