An international conference has been held in Seoul,... exploring the reasons behind the explosive popularity of K-Pop super-group, BTS.
The aptly-named BTS Insight Forum was held in southern Seoul and brought together international experts from a range of fields to discuss BTS' contributions to the world.
Lee Won-ah , a lecturer at UC Santa Barbara said BTS is a positive influence on students around the world.
A cultural analyst said BTS' massive fan-base, known as "Army," is helping promote the band through Twitter and various donations.
Media experts also suggested BTS is helping break the traditional gender role of men with their alternative image.
Another BTS conference will be held in the UK in January.
