Seoul court orders Audi, Volkswagen to pay damages to customers

A Seoul court has ordered Volkswagen Group and its Korean unit to compensate customers who bought their cars in 2015.
The Seoul District Court said the firms should pay for what it called the customers' "psychological damages" caused by the carmaker's emissions-cheating scandal and delayed recall.
In late 2015, hundreds of Korean owners of Audi and VW vehicles filed a lawsuit against the carmaker after the government found the German cars were fitted with devices that cheated emissions tests.
The court ordered Volkswagen, Audi and their Korean unit pay 825 U.S. dollars in compensation to each car sold to each plaintiff.
