S. Korea's coal consumption increases in 2018

South Korea saw a significant rise in coal consumption last year,... according to an annual report by British Petroleum.
The country's consumption of coal grew by two-point-four percent on-year in 2018,... hitting 88-point-two million tonnes oil equivalent.
The figure puts South Korea in fifth place in terms of total coal consumption among the OECD countries after China, India, the U.S. and Japan.
The United Kingdom, Germany and the U.S. saw coal consumption drop by 16-point-6 percent, seven-point-two percent and four-point-three percent respectively.
However, developing economies continued to see growth of coal consumption, at an average of 3 percent on-year.
