Deputy trade minister Kim Seung-ho... once again, called on Tokyo to lift its export curbs on Seoul,... saying they are outdated measures.
He spoke to reporters as he returns to home from the WTO General Council meeting in Geneva.
"Japan's export restrictions are anachronistic and are out of line with the principles of interdependence and mutual cooperation in the international community. For its own sake and that of the globe's, Japan should behave responsibly as the G20 chair by retracting its export curbs at the earliest date."
The trade official added that Japan is trying to exploit South Korea's vulnerability,... with semiconductors taking up a quarter of nation's exports.
Expressing deep regret over Tokyo's refusal to sit down for talks,... Kim emphasized,... Seoul will do its best to prepare against the economic retaliation.
