President Moon Jae-in will hold a luncheon at the Blue House on Tuesday,... with representatives of the ruling Democratic Party of Korea, including its floor leader Lee In-young.
The president is expected to ask for the party's active support in overcoming the current economic difficulties stemming from the trade dispute with Japan.
The meeting comes as the government is pushing to expand the pending multi-billion dollar supplementary budget bill,... mainly to enhance domestic firms' competitiveness in semiconductors and high-tech materials.
However, due to strong push back from the main opposition Liberty Korea Party,... it's unclear if the extra budget bill will be approved before the end of the month.
