Violence erupts at Hong Kong MTR station as thugs clash with demonstrators

A mob wearing white shirts swarmed the Yuen Long MTR station in Hong Kong and attacked commuters yesterday night, flinging projectiles and beating passengers indisciminately with sticks.

Most of those attacked were demonstrators clad in black clothing, several journalists and members of the public were also among those who were assaulted.

This video from social media shows the carnage within the station, including the moment the assailants stormed a train that was stopped on the platform.
