MTR stations vandalised and shut amid anti-government protests in Hong Kong
  • 5 years ago
Four Mass Transit Rail (MTR) stations in Hong Kong were shut over on September 8, 2019, after ticketing machines were damaged and walls spray-painted during anti-government protests.  Police made several arrests, reportedly including suspects connected the vandalism. The attacks on the stations followed a peaceful march to the US consulate to urge Washington to support Hong Kong’s democratic development and human rights.
