Russia has offered to supply South Korean companies with hydrogen fluoride a material essential in making semiconductors.
Hydrogen fluoride is one of the products whose supply is affected by Japan's export curbs.
A Blue House official said Friday,... that Russia made the offer to the South Korean government through a diplomatic channel... and the offer is being reviewed.
The Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association is known to have raised the idea when President Moon Jae-in met on Wednesday with South Korean business leaders.
If the proposal is accepted,... it could drastically reduce the damage caused by Japan's restrictions.
