Seoul City to take special measures to protect homeless, vulnerable from summer heat
  • 5 years ago
The Seoul Metropolitan Government is implementing stronger measures to keep vulnerable social groups cool during the scorching summer heat.
The city advises people to stay indoors when heatwave warnings or alerts are issued... and to make use of the capital's 26 cooling shelters.
The shelters have air conditioning units, shower rooms and even TVs.
Three mobile bath vehicles for homeless people will operate in five areas.
Nurses will do daily check-ups on homeless people and those over 65, disabled or suffering from a chronic disease.
Private companies will also sponsor free drinking water, food, and electric fans.
