Seoul has been briefed by the U.S. on the details of Sunday's Kim-Trump summit at the DMZ.
That's coming from the Presidential office.
Shin Se-min has the details.
South Korea's Presidential Office says... it's been debriefed on the details of the impromptu meeting between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at the Demilitarized Zone... on the inter-Korean border.
A high-ranking official at the top office told reporters Monday... that Trump had shared details of his meeting with Kim to South Korean President Moon Jae-in during their encounter afterwards,... seen through a live video feed.
At a certain point,... Trump even whispered into Moon's ears,... believed to be an exchange of some relevant information, and kept the aides from both sides away from the two for a private conversation.
The official added... Seoul had received a detailed briefing from the U.S. later on Sunday afternoon,... delivered to Seoul's top diplomat Kang Kyung-wha.
There are no details on who briefed Kang,... or what the content of the briefing was,... with Seoul saying that it's difficult to disclose the information as of now.
The official also confirmed that Youn Kun-young, the director of the presidential state affairs planning and monitoring office... headed the preparations for the DMZ meet-up,... including logistics, protocol and media coverage.
The top office added,... given his experience in exchanges with the North on such issues,... he was deemed most suitable for the job.
Youn is also known to have played a leading role... in opening a hotline between leaders Moon and Kim last year.
Through the impromptu meeting at the DMZ Sunday,... leaders from the two Koreas and the U.S. have proven once again... that their top-down approach to peace talks is still viable,... perhaps hinting at more similar meetings down the line.
