The U.S. Special Representative for North Korea, Stephen Biegun, says the U.S. is ready to engage in talks with North Korea to implement the Singapore agreement in a simultaneous and parallel way.
This is according to Seoul's foreign affairs ministry in its statement on the results of Biegun's meeting with his South Korean counterpart Lee Do-hoon in Seoul, Friday morning.
In their hour-long meeting, Biegun reportedly said he hopes that the South Korea-U.S. summit slated for this weekend will be an important event in terms of peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula.
Seoul's nuclear envoy agreed that the summit shows the allies' determination to achieve denuclearization and peace.
The two also shared their views on the recent exchanges with the North.
