With Xi Jinping making his first visit to Pyeongyang,... the streets of the North Korean capital have been bustling with workers, builders and cleaners making sure everything is just right for the Chinese President's two-day stay.
Taking a look at what's being done to decorate the city's streets ahead of the summit, here's Lee Seung-jae.
With Chinese leader Xi Jinping arriving in Pyeongyang on Thursday,... the streets of North Korea's capital are undergoing a spring clean and being elaborately decorated to welcome him to the city for the first time.
Pyeongyang's Moranbong area,... where the 'Friendship Monument' is located, is getting the same treatment.
The monument was built as a thank you to the Chinese People's Volunteer Army who sided with the North during the Korean War.
Roads around the area have been freshly laid with bricks,... and workers have been spotted scrubbing the monument.
It's expected President Xi will pass by the area to commemorate the long standing alliance between the two sides.
Workers have also been decorating the streets with flowers,... especially around the areas where President Xi is expected to pass by upon his arrival.
Crowds of North Koreans are expected to be on hand to welcome the Chinese leader, likely waving North Korean and Chinese flags.
Marking the first visit by a Chinese leader in 14 years,... North Korea has also issued a special stamp to commemorate the visit.
In addition,... the number of Chinese tourists arriving in Pyeongyang has picked up considerably over the past few days,... as the long-time allies mark their 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties this year.
