South Korean film director Bong Joon-ho has been invited to this year's Lumiere Film Festival.
The annual gathering, named after Lumiere brothers who invented cinematography, has been held in the French city of Lyon every October since 2009.
It's one of the world's largest international festivals for classic cinema.
And such an invitation comes as Bong recently won the Palme d'Or award at the 2019 Cannes International Film Festival for his latest film 'Parasite'.
'Parasite' has debuted strongly in France, attracting some 330-thousand viewers within a week of its release.
Previously, the most viewed South Korean film in the first week of release in France was Bong's 2013 movie 'Snowpiercer', with more than 230-thousand viewers.
