Consumer price growth in South Korea has remained below one percent for the fifth month in a row,... signaling low consumer and investor sentiment.
According to Statistics Korea on Tuesday,... consumer prices edged up 0-point-7 percent on-year in May... far lower than the Bank of Korea's target goal of two percent.
The agency attributed the sluggish inflation to low domestic demand... and a drop in the prices of petroleum goods compared to the same period last year.
Analysts say the continuing slow increase might lead to a decrease in consumer spending and private investment.
