UK House of Commons leader Andrea Leadsom resigns

Andrea Leadsom, the Leader of the House of Commons and a prominent Brexiteer, has resigned as British Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit plan was hit by a massive backlash from her own party's MPs.
Leadsom said she could not announce the new Withdrawal Agreement Bill, which will implement Britain's departure from the EU, in parliament on Thursday as she did not believe in it.
With Leadsom quitting, May could face further defections from her ailing government ahead of her fourth attempt to get her new Brexit deal passed.
May is facing pressure to resign and if she does, Leadsom is expected to throw her hat into the ring to try and become the next PM.
